I understand when to select “use global stock” – this is probably the simplest setting which simply reduces the global stock by 1 for each ticket sold until there’s nothing left if global stock.<\/p>\n
But why would you use global stock and select that option? Wouldn’t you just create a ticket without selecting “enable global stock” and set the ticket quantity to 50?<\/p>\n
I understand when to select “use global stock but cap sales” – when you might have 100 seats in total but need to cap sales of a particular ticket to 50.<\/p>\n
That’s REALLY where “enable global stock” is required… but only if you have more than one ticket type, right?<\/p>\n
But under what circumstances would someone select “enable global stock” and then add a ticket of “independent” which ignores the global stock level? Let’s say you have 2 ticket types and a global stock of 100.<\/p>\n
children tickets – use global stock and limit to 75
\nadult tickets – use global stock and limit to 25<\/p>\n
And then if you wanted another ticket type using “independent” (for whatever reason):
\nVIP tickets – independent with 30 available<\/p>\n
Then why would you just set global stock to 130 and have three tickets like this:
\nchildren tickets – use global stock and limit to 75
\nadult tickets – use global stock and limit to 25
\nVIP tickets – use global stock and limit to 30<\/p>\n
