{"id":1198064,"date":"2016-11-27T16:57:16","date_gmt":"2016-11-28T00:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/support\/forums\/topic\/speed-problems-with-recurring-events\/"},"modified":"2016-12-08T12:15:05","modified_gmt":"2016-12-08T20:15:05","slug":"speed-problems-with-recurring-events","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/support\/forums\/topic\/speed-problems-with-recurring-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Speed Problems with Recurring Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi Folks,<\/p>\n<p>Happy Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p>We are having some real issues with the speed of page rendering when using recurring events.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve set the time range to 12 months in Events -&gt; Settings -&gt; General.<\/p>\n<p>There are some 272 main events with ~ 8,000 recurring instances (based on the 12 month) setting. Page load time in chrome developer tools on the calendar page (and any page that displays events in a widget format on the sidebar) is ~ 14-15 seconds. Deactivating the tribe events plugin brings page load down to ~ 2.5 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>If I leave only the first instance of each event and delete all the additional instances created as re-currances the page load is about 4 seconds. Still not really great but workable.<\/p>\n<p>If I disable ALL plugins page load time is about 1.5seconds. Renable just the tribe events pro plugin and tribe events community plugin and page load is back up at 8 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Enable transients is enabled. If I disable the enable transients setting the page load speed is ~ 17 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>So, my questions are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is this a known issue? It&#8217;s not a server problem as I get the same problems on the client&#8217;s live site and also on a my own local development environment on my notebook.<\/li>\n<li>Is there a solution or work around?
