Hi. I’ve come to the conclusion that the following is exactly what I need:
\n1) An custom introduction text that I want to be able to define in WordPress comfortably (which is shown only<\/strong> on the events page itself, no on event detail pages), e.g. “Welcome user, here is a list of events….”
\n2) Below this, the Map view, just like shown on http:\/\/wpshindig.com\/events\/map\/<\/p>\n

Normally, ordinary WordPress plugins make this easy: create a page (e.g. a static page), have a text block with the custom introduction text, then insert a shortcode.
\nFor some unfathomable reason, I can’t seem to find such a shortcut. If it doesn’t exist, I’m really wondering why.<\/p>\n

All other solutions are hacky. Exemplary, I could just edit the template files, but then I would have to write my introduction text right into these files, which is not a comfortable solution. <\/p>\n

Any other solutions?<\/p>\n
