I just bought the iCal importer plugin,
\nto make the work of my event manager more easy,
\nbut unfortunately it doesn’t work as it should for us.<\/p>\n
Setup:
\nWe created a Google Calendar which we import via iCal to The Events Calendar.
\nThe timezone of the Googe Calendar is in Z\u00fcrich Switzerland.
\nThe timezone of wordpress is also in Zurich Switzerland.
\nMy event manager creates our events on his android phone in the google calendar.
\nThe events show up with the right times and updated in Google Calendar (in the webbrowser).
\nImport all 30 min.<\/p>\n
He was setting up first a Test event, to test the function of the addon.
\nTitle: “Test meeting social zebras” Time: “18:45 – 21:00”<\/p>\n
After the event showed up, he was adding all our events, plus he updated the test event with the new title.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the iCal importer didn’t see the change in the event information and didn’t update the event.
\nSo in our case it would be useless. <\/p>\n
My suggestion: As long the event is in the future, it should check if there is some change in the event information, like title, description, time, location etc.<\/p>\n
Additional to this we figured out, that all the events are showing up with the time “02:00 – 21:00” instead of “18:45 – 21:00”,
\nso it cannot be a time zone problem, or just at the starting time?!<\/p>\n
Please fix this time bug and add a updating future to the addon.<\/p>\n
