There doesn’t seem to be a forum for Event Tickets so you might want to move this somewhere else, but I found a possible problem I wanted to report.<\/p>\n

We use Events Calendar Pro and recently installed Event Tickets – the RSVP feature is perfect for our simple needs. One problem we noticed is the behavior of the Event Cost field. The expected behavior is perfectly clear and acceptable:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. enter a zero for Event Cost and the event detail page should show Cost: Free<\/li>\n
  2. leaving the Event Cost blank should make the Cost: lines not display at all<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Normally we want the second option (blank) because our events do cost money, but not a fixed amount – they include food and beverages so people pay at the end of the event.<\/p>\n

    The problem is that even when leaving the Cost blank it still shows FREE on the event page.<\/p>\n

    Today I discovered why this is happening. There are multiple entries in the database for _EventCost. One of these entries has a zero and the other contains a blank. As soon as I remove the record containing zero the Cost: Free lines are gone as they should be. As soon as I edit an event, just changing some descriptive text and leaving the Cost blank, the extra database entry, with a zero in the cost reappears.<\/p>\n

    Just to be clear, this is in the wp_postmeta table. When it only has one record where the meta_key column contains _EventCost and the meta_value column is blank, the event detail page does not show Cost: Free. However, if I then make any change and update the event, a second record will be added to wp_postmeta where meta_key is _EventCost and meta_value is zero.<\/p>\n
