Neither Event Category nor Venues displays on Filter bar

Several filters, when activated, do show on the Filter bar, but 2 do not–Event Category & Venues.

What might cause them to not display as filter options?

These filters I’ve verified to display and work: Time, Day, Featured Events

We are sorry to hear about the filters not all displaying on your site.
I would love to help you with this topic.

As a first step, I am noticing that you might want to update your plugins, as it looks like you do not have the latest versions installed.

I am not sure if that will fix it, but it certainly can’t hurt.

Secondly, I am a bit confused. I just went to http://rvafilmfestival.com/events/ and I can see these filters in action.

Has anything changed in the meantime ?

Yes, once I made the events public, the two “missing” filters appeared in the filter bar. It seems the filter bar is simply smart enough not to display filters if it doesn’t detect any publicly-accessible filter values.
