Categories/Tags template pages

When the categories/tags links are clicked on the single event detail pages, the information on our site currently goes to the default archive page (which for us is /news, so the category/tag page is /news/tag/tagname). We believe it is confusing to users of our site to mix calendar events with the new posts.

How do we override the archive taxonomy page for calendar events (categories & tags) so they are displayed within the calendar pages?

I would love to help you with this topic.

You are right, by default, the Events Calendar tends to use the archive.php, functions.php and category.php files of our customers WordPress theme.

Since this mostly a template specific issue, you could always tweak that template to add conditionals to deal with the calendar related pages.

But, as an alternative, I would recommend trying to change the setting under Events -> Settings -> Display (specifically the Events template setting)
