I’ve noticed that Filter bar is working the opposite way that I thought it would.
Given the following scenario:
Event X – Assigned to only Category A
Event Y – Assigned to only Category B
Event Z – Assigned to both Category A and Category BFiltering on category A brings back X & Z as expected.
Filtering on Category B brings back Y & Z as expected.
Filtering on Category A AND Category B brings back X, Y & Z – not expected!I was hoping that the filter would look for events that had been categorised BOTH for Cat A & Cat B and hence return just Event Z. This allows the end user to narrow down a list of events surely?
If this is the default behaviour of TEC Pro, is there a way we can switch it around to do what I want.
Apologies for not knowing the correct terminology for what I’m trying to describe – hence the example.

This is indeed the expected behaviour.
Hypothetical example: suppose the categories were sport-related, it would allow a visitor interested in skiing, snow boarding and snow shoeing (for example) to pick all of those and therefore review all snow-related sports.
I do appreciate that may not be optimal in every scenario, though – and if you’d like to propose this as a future option (that is, enabling and behaviour as an alternative to or logic) – we’d be happy to consider it: simply visit our UserVoice channel and add your idea there, or up-vote any suitable existing request.

Certainly possible as a customization; unfortunately such a tweak is beyond what we can assist with here on the forums but if you’re familiar with the workings of WP_Query you could certainly make the appropriate changes by using standard WP query hooks or else our event-specific tribe_events_pre_get_posts hook.
I’m sorry we can’t offer more than this in the short term, but I do hope that at least gives you an idea you can explore if you need to take this further before any future changes the might be implemented are put in place.

I’m looking for exactly the same, if I get it, I’ll let you know.
Good luck!February 12, 2015 at 1:40 am #941882pylonParticipantBarry
Appreciate the clarification on how TEC Pro implements ‘or’ logic rather than ‘and’ behaviour. I’ll see if client notices and wants it the other way around!
@gonzalosanza – I’ll hold you to that and do the same if I need to and get there first…February 12, 2015 at 6:17 am #941921BarryMemberRemember also you’re more than welcome to share the UserVoice link to your feature request (if either of you post one – it might allow others to find and up-vote the request 🙂 ).
