Release: The Events Calendar 4.2.1 + premium add-ons

We’ve flipped the switch on our latest release and are stoked to announce that The Events Calendar 4.2.1 is now available for your updating pleasure.

As you may already know, we like to ship a series of maintenance releases en route to a larger, feature-rich release. This marks the first in that series for 4.2 and we nailed a lot of bugs in this one.

What were they? Let’s dig into the change logs.

As always, we encourage you to use caution when updating plugins to the latest versions, just as you would for any other WordPress update. Backup your site files and database and definitely test the updates in a development environment, if you can. We expect smooth sailing if you’re already running version 4.2 of any plugin, but better safe than sorry. That especially goes for anyone updating from version 4.1 or above, in which case we suggest reading over the release notes in advance.

The Events Calendar 4.2.1

  • Tweak – Adjust the caching rules for Month View for faster loading
  • Tweak – Reduce the ginormous font size of Month View titles in skeleton styles
  • Fix – Replace a bad return type to avoid unnecessary notices in the error log
  • Fix – Add missing styles for correctly hide screen reader text
  • Fix – Fixes tribe_get_event_link() which wasn’t working when passing second parameter as true
  • Fix – Add styling to adjust List View description to full width
  • Fix – Miscellaneous tweaks to improve the Month and Day views
  • Fix – Fix a shorthand array that was causing errors in PHP 5.2 and 5.3 when importing events

Events Calendar PRO 4.2.1

  • Tweak – Added helper text near Distance filter to add clarity for Filter Bar users
  • Fix – Fix issue where width of content area in photo view was inheriting styles making it too narrow
  • Fix – Allow ‘0’ to be set as the value of additional fields
  • Fix – Graciously handle malformed recurrence event meta information
  • Fix – Fixed an issue where ‘All Day’ label was displaying on Wednesday rather than the time column

Community Events 4.2.1

  • Fix – Adjust layout for List View in Twenty Sixteen

Community Tickets 4.2.1

  • Tweak – Fixed spacing on Fee Option Defaults tooltip

Filter Bar 4.2.1

  • Fix – Add back filters to modify limit for organizer and venue in Filter Bar

Event Tickets 4.2.1

  • Tweak – Create a readable ID on CSV and email exports when they’re available
  • Fix – Display all visible columns in attendees CSV and email export reports
  • Fix – Correct how attendee meta is handled on all pages
  • Fix – Remove notices in the attendees export by CSV and email when Community Tickets is activated

Event Tickets Plus 4.2.1

  • Fix – Add attendee meta for all non event post types in the CSV export
  • Fix – Use numeric ID for QR checkin instead of the new Human Readable format
  • Fix – Restore APM functionality with tickets
  • Fix – Ensure proper behavior of attendees list checkbox
  • Fix – Remove notices in attendees export by CSV or Email when using Community Tickets

Advanced Post Manager 4.2

  • Fix – Avoid errors and UI cruft when deactivating a plugin that added custom filters in use
