The Events Calendar 5.0.1
Howdy all! We’re releasing a quick update here that adds functionality to the WordPress Customizer and resolves some issues related to the datepicker field for events.
This is a minor release that should be smooth sailing when updating. That said, it’s always a good idea to backup your site and test changes in a development environment before installing this on your live site, as you would with any other WordPress update.
Let’s get to the changelogs:
- Version – The Events Calendar 5.0.1 is only compatible with Filter Bar 4.9.1 and higher.
- Version – The Events Calendar 5.0.1 is only compatible with Events Calendar PRO 5.0.1 and higher.
- Feature – We have added the “Accent Color” option to the WordPress Customizer when the new views design is enabled.
- Fix – We have fixed the venue block title from being indented in Twenty Twenty theme.
- Fix – The website block label no longer disappears when adding a classic event details block.
- Fix – This fix resolves style overrides for new view shortcodes for Enfold theme.
- Fix – We released a fix so that the events bar icon displays as blue when text has been inputted.
- Fix – We resolved an issue so that the datepicker does not get cut off in small width screens for new views.
- Fix – Venue and organizer blocks now correctly link to venue and organizer pages if Events Calendar Pro is activated.
- Fix – We have removed an unnecessary class in the venue block, when using the block editor.
- Fix – We have remove the font family that was applied to the organizer block to respect theme styles.
- Fix – We have fixed an issue where numbers were breaking into two lines when using the datepicker with the Twenty Twenty theme.

- Fix – This fix keeps the event sharing block text from being cut off in the block editor admin when editing an event.
- Fix – We have fixed disappearing price descriptions in block editor admin when editing an event.
- Fix – Venues can now be properly removed by clicking the Remove Venue button in the venue block.
- Fix – This fix ensures that the map does not display if enable map setting is disabled.
- Fix – We resolved an issue that addresses a datepicker width problem in Chrome in the new views.
- Fix – We fixed an issue where Venue provinces were incorrectly populated in iCal exports.
- Fix – We created a limit on when events should be moved to the trash. Now we will not delete posts with _EventEndDate meta anymore.
- Tweak – We have adjusted tooltip title styles for Twenty Twenty theme.
- Tweak – We have removed the “Find Events” button and related data when the events bar is disabled.
- Tweak – We ensure that the datepicker always updates the view via live refresh.
- Tweak – We have adjusted WordPress Customizer labels for sites using the new views.
- Tweak – We now allow start date/time and end date/time to be the same, in order to hide the end date/time in the front end when using block editor. This allows customers to hide the end date/time.
