If you are having trouble with your license key or connecting to the Seating Builder SaaS, please see our guide on <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/seating-connecting-to-the-seating-builder-service\/\">connecting to the Seating Builder service<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-missing-features-amp-functionality\">Missing features &amp; functionality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you go to Tickets &gt; Seating and do not see your Seating Maps, it&#8217;s because of an issue with your license key or the Seating Builder service connection. If your license is valid but you are not connected to Seating Builder, follow the steps in our <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/seating-connecting-to-the-seating-builder-service\/\">connecting to the Seating Builder service<\/a> guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-dealing-with-errors\">Dealing with errors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized has-custom-border\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"674\" height=\"310\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-17-at-10.57.14\u202fAM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1963131\" style=\"border-width:3px;width:260px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-17-at-10.57.14\u202fAM.png 674w, https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Screenshot-2024-10-17-at-10.57.14\u202fAM-300x138.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 674px) 100vw, 674px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you see an error screen like this, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Verify that your license key is valid and you are connected to the Seating Builder service under Tickets &gt; Settings &gt; Licenses &gt; Seating<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure you\u2019re running the latest versions of Event Tickets. If you are using any of our other plugins (e.g. The Events Calendar), update them as well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your WordPress Memory is less than 256 MB, consider upgrading it as this is a recommended minimum memory limit for WordPress. Read more about WordPress memory issues in <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/resolved-allowed-memory-size-exhausted\/\">this article<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use a plugin such as <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/artiss-transient-cleaner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Transient Cleaner<\/a> to clear your site&#8217;s transients. Clearing site transients in WordPress can help resolve issues related to outdated or stale cached data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you go through the above steps, please try again. If you are still hitting an error, you can reach out to the support <a href=\"https:\/\/my.theeventscalendar.com\/my-account\/support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>. Please include your license key, site URL, and the error code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-theme-palette-8-background-color has-background\">Note: Seating builder is optimized for layouts with fewer than 1,500 seats. If this doesn&#8217;t meet your needs, please contact support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-attendees-with-no-seat-assignment\">Attendees with no seat assignment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you go to the <em>Seats <\/em>tab for an event and see attendees without seat assignments, it is most likely for one of the following reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The attendee was created manually, but did not get a seat assigned (see above)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/maps-and-layouts\/#change-layout\">seat layout for the event was changed<\/a>, which removes <strong>all<\/strong> seat assignments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/maps-and-layouts\/#h-associated-events\">event layout was edited<\/a> and the attendee&#8217;s original seat was changed to blocked<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can assign these attendees to any open seat by clicking the <em>Assign Seat <\/em>option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-issues-with-capacity-amp-availability\">Issues with capacity &amp; availability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As people purchase tickets, the event&#8217;s availability will decrease and seats will be reserved. In most situations, the number of unoccupied seats will be equal to the availability of the event. However, there are some situations where the numbers will not match, and you may want to take manual action by <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/using-seating-with-event-tickets\/#h-removing-a-seat-assignment\">removing an attendee&#8217;s seat assignment<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/using-seating-with-event-tickets\/#h-attendees-without-seat-assignments\">reviewing attendees without seat assignments<\/a>, or deleting an attendee. <br>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/using-seating-with-event-tickets\/#h-capacity-and-availability-for-seated-tickets\">Capacity and availability for seated tickets<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you edit a Seat Layout, any events currently using that layout will be impacted. This kind of editing can cause inconsistencies between availability and the number of empty seats. Say you have an event using layout &#8220;Theater&#8221; which has two Seat Types, <em>Standard<\/em> and <em>Discount<\/em>. The event has two tickets: &#8220;Regular Admission&#8221;, which uses the &#8220;Standard&#8221; seats, and &#8220;Super Saver&#8221;, which uses the &#8220;Discount&#8221; seats. If the Super Saver ticket have sold out, but then you change the layout itself and move 5 seats from <em>Standard <\/em>to <em>Discount, <\/em>that will change the capacity of both tickets. If you edit a layout with associated events, you may need to manually adjust attendees or seat assignments on those events.<br>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/maps-and-layout\/#h-associated-events\">Editing layouts with associated events<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-maps-amp-layouts-are-gone\">Maps &amp; Layouts are gone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Seating Maps and Seat Layouts are tied to your license key <em>and <\/em>your site URL. If you change your license key or URL, we will need to manually move your seating data. Please <a href=\"https:\/\/my.theeventscalendar.com\/my-account\/support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">contact support<\/a> for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-site-health-metrics\">Site Health metrics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Seating add-on includes two <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/site-health-screen\/\">Site Health <\/a>metrics for monitoring functionality. The first simply confirms that your Seating license key is valid. If your key is invalid or expired, this alert will show in your site health critical issues list. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second check is to make sure that your site can connect with the Seating Builder SaaS. Note that this does not mean that your site <em>is <\/em>connected, but that it can. If your Site Health shows that your site is not able to connect to the SaaS, that could be because it&#8217;s blocked by your site host.
