We&#8217;ll first look at the settings available when the plugin is used as a standalone solution, then cover the additional settings that appear when Event Tickets is used alongside The Events Calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All settings are found under <strong>Tickets \u2192 Settings<\/strong> in the WordPress dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-general-settings\">General Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Settings-%E2%80%B9-darian-%E2%80%94-WordPress-2025-05-06-at-1.08.29-AM.jpg\" alt=\"The Event Tickets General Settings screen\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Post types that can have tickets<\/strong> \u2014 Determines which types of posts support creating tickets. Custom post types are supported and appear as options if available. When The Events Calendar is active, an &#8220;Event&#8221; option is added to this list. With Events Calendar Pro, a &#8220;Series&#8221; option also appears.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Debug mode<\/strong> \u2014 Allows PHP errors to be logged to your site&#8217;s error log. Useful for troubleshooting. Disabled by default; only enable it for troubleshooting to maintain best performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Compact Date Format<\/strong> \u2014 Sets how the date is formatted when selecting ticket start and end sale dates in the editor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>RSVP Display Settings<\/strong> \u2014 Enables the updated RSVP experience, which changes the appearance and user flow of RSVPs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-login-requirements\">Login Requirements<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Require users to log in before they RSVP<\/strong> \u2014 When enabled, users must be registered and logged in to complete an RSVP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Require users to log in before they purchase tickets<\/strong> \u2014 When enabled, users must be registered and logged in to purchase a ticket.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-payments\">Payments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Settings-%E2%80%B9-darian-%E2%80%94-WordPress-2025-05-06-at-1.09.32-AM.jpg\" alt=\"The Event Tickets Payments settings screen showing the option to enable Tickets Commerce\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Here you can enable Tickets Commerce. Enabled by default.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stock Handling<\/strong> \u2014 Controls at which point in the purchase process the available ticket count decreases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Currency Code<\/strong> \u2014 The currency used for Tickets Commerce payments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Decimal Separator<\/strong> \u2014 The decimal separator used when displaying ticket prices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Thousands Separator<\/strong> \u2014 The thousands separator used when displaying ticket prices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Number of Decimals<\/strong> \u2014 The number of decimal places shown in ticket prices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Currency Position<\/strong> \u2014 Sets whether the currency symbol appears before or after the price.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Checkout Page<\/strong> \u2014 The page where customers complete their purchase. Display it using the <code>[tec_tickets_checkout]<\/code> shortcode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Success Page<\/strong> \u2014 The page users are directed to after completing checkout. Display it using the <code>[tec_tickets_success]<\/code> shortcode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Confirmation email sender address<\/strong> \u2014 Since version 5.6.0 this setting has moved to <strong>Tickets \u2192 Settings \u2192 Emails<\/strong>. Sets the &#8220;from&#8221; address for purchase and ticket confirmation emails. Defaults to the site email address in WordPress settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Confirmation email sender name<\/strong> \u2014 Since version 5.6.0 this setting has moved to <strong>Tickets \u2192 Settings \u2192 Emails<\/strong>. The sender name that appears in the recipient&#8217;s inbox.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Confirmation email subject<\/strong> \u2014 Since version 5.6.0 this setting has moved to each email&#8217;s individual settings under <strong>Tickets \u2192 Settings \u2192 Emails<\/strong>. Sets the subject line for ticket confirmation emails.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-emails\">Emails<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If your Event Tickets install was created before version 5.6.0, you can enable the Tickets Emails system here. For installs after version 5.6.0, this is enabled by default.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Settings-%E2%80%B9-darian-%E2%80%94-WordPress-2025-05-06-at-1.10.38-AM-2.jpg\" alt=\"The Event Tickets Emails settings screen showing the list of configurable email types\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Event Tickets includes the following email types, each configurable independently:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ticket Email<\/strong> \u2014 Sent with the ticket(s) upon purchase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Series Pass Email<\/strong> \u2014 Sent with a series pass ticket upon purchase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>RSVP Email<\/strong> \u2014 Sent when an RSVP is confirmed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>RSVP &#8220;Not Going&#8221; Email<\/strong> \u2014 Sent when a user confirms they are not attending.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Waitlist Spot Available<\/strong> \u2014 Sent when a waitlist spot opens, including a link to purchase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Waitlist Confirmation<\/strong> \u2014 Sent to confirm that a user has been added to the waitlist.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Purchase Receipt<\/strong> \u2014 The purchase receipt sent to the buyer after a Tickets Commerce order.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Completed Order<\/strong> \u2014 Sent to the site admin when a Tickets Commerce order is completed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Settings for each email type are detailed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/evnt.is\/event-tickets-emails\">Event Tickets Emails article<\/a>. Below the email list, the following global email settings apply to all emails:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2023\/06\/et-settings-june-23-tab-emails-2.png\" alt=\"The global email settings section at the bottom of the Emails tab\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sender name<\/strong> \u2014 The name shown as the sender in the recipient&#8217;s inbox.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sender email<\/strong> \u2014 The email address used as the sender for all Event Tickets emails.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Header image<\/strong> \u2014 The image displayed in the email header.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Image alignment<\/strong> \u2014 Horizontal alignment of the header image.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Header\/Footer background<\/strong> \u2014 Background colors for the header and footer. Use <code>#50B078<\/code> to revert to the original color.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ticket color<\/strong> \u2014 Background color for the ticket section in Ticket and RSVP emails. The font color adjusts automatically for readability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Footer content<\/strong> \u2014 Additional text placed in the email footer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Footer credit<\/strong> \u2014 Available with Event Tickets Plus. Allows you to remove the &#8220;Powered by Event Tickets&#8221; credit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>Preview<\/strong> button is available on each email&#8217;s settings page to show how the email will look before sending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-attendee-registration\">Attendee Registration <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>(Event Tickets Plus Only)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Settings-%E2%80%B9-TEC-Plugins-Internal-Use-Only-%E2%80%94-WordPress-2025-05-06-at-1.43.54-AM-1024x778.jpg\" alt=\"The Attendee Registration settings screen in Event Tickets Plus\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Individual Attendee Collection Default Setting<\/strong> \u2014 The default attendee collection option when creating new tickets. When enabled, attendees can add passes to Apple Wallet after purchasing tickets or confirming RSVPs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Logo<\/strong> \u2014 The logo shown on the pass. Defaults to the logo set in Emails settings if defined. If no logo is set, the site title is used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pass color<\/strong> \u2014 Background color of the pass.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Text color<\/strong> \u2014 Color of text on the pass. Ensure sufficient contrast with the pass color.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>QR codes<\/strong> \u2014 Enable or disable QR codes on passes for use with the <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/using-qr-codes-with-event-tickets-plus\/\">Event Tickets Plus App<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Attendee registration fields<\/strong> \u2014 Enable or disable the inclusion of <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/knowledgebase\/attendee-registration-settings\/\">attendee registration fields<\/a> on the back of the pass.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pdf-tickets\">PDF Tickets<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/PDFTickets-1024x862.jpg\" alt=\"The PDF Tickets settings screen in Event Tickets Plus\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Enable PDF tickets<\/strong> \u2014 Global toggle for PDF tickets. Defaults to the Emails settings logo if defined.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Image alignment<\/strong> \u2014 Alignment of the header image: Left, Center, or Right.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Header color<\/strong> \u2014 Background color for the PDF header. Requires Event Tickets Plus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Restrict Check-in<\/strong> \u2014 Whether to restrict check-in of QR tickets to the event&#8217;s date and time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Check-in Window<\/strong> \u2014 How far in advance to allow attendee check-in. No email will be sent if no status is selected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-licenses\">Licenses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Settings-%E2%80%B9-TEC-Plugins-Internal-Use-Only-%E2%80%94-WordPress-2025-05-06-at-1.42.28-AM.jpg\" alt=\"The Licenses settings screen in Event Tickets\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Event Tickets does not require a license. Event Tickets Plus requires a license key, which is entered here. If you use <a href=\"https:\/\/theeventscalendar.com\/products\/promoter\/\">Promoter<\/a> with Event Tickets, this is also where you enter the Promoter license key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-event-settings\">Event Settings <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>(with The Events Calendar)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Event Tickets is used alongside The Events Calendar, additional settings appear under <strong>Events \u2192 Settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Settings-%E2%80%B9-TEC-Plugins-Internal-Use-Only-%E2%80%94-WordPress-2025-05-06-at-1.43.09-AM-1024x600.jpg\" alt=\"The Ticket Settings section under Events Settings when The Events Calendar is active\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Post types that can have tickets<\/strong> \u2014 An &#8220;Event&#8221; option is added to the list. With Events Calendar Pro, &#8220;Series&#8221; also appears.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location of RSVP form<\/strong> \u2014 Where the RSVP form displays on an event post. Options: Below the event details (default), Above the event details, Below the event description, Above the event description.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location of Tickets form<\/strong> \u2014 Where the Tickets form displays on an event post. Same options as the RSVP form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Display # tickets left threshold<\/strong> \u2014 The number at which the &#8220;X tickets left&#8221; text appears on the ticket form. Leave blank to always show the remaining count.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-adding-tickets-to-custom-post-types\">Adding Tickets to Custom Post Types<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your custom post type is configured, create a new post of that post type in the WordPress admin. For example, if your post type is called \u201cPortfolio\u201d then you might see an item in the WordPress admin menu with that same name, along with an option under it create a new Portfolio post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The first thing is to make sure that the Event Tickets plugin is configured to work with your custom post type. Event Tickets allows you to specify exactly which post types should be able to use tickets and RSVPs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Navigate to <strong>Tickets<\/strong> \u2192 <strong>Settings<\/strong> \u2192 <strong>General <\/strong>from the WordPress dashboard. There is an option to enable tickets and RSVPs for specific post types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.theeventscalendar.com\/kb\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Screen-Shot-2022-06-07-at-10.18.25-AM.png\" alt=\"Select the post type\" class=\"wp-image-1953102\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">In this example, the \u201cEvent\u201d post type has enabled tickets and RSVPs. Be sure to save your settings before leaving the page.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The next step is to check that the custom post type supports custom fields for posts. Custom post types do not support them right out of the box, so that is something we need to enable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have registered your custom post type with a function, then custom fields can be enabled using the <code>$supports<\/code> argument:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-syntaxhighlighter-code \"><pre class=\"brush: php; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\n&#039;supports&#039; =&gt; array( &#039;title&#039;, &#039;editor&#039;, &#039;author&#039;, &#039;thumbnail&#039;, &#039;excerpt&#039;, &#039;custom-fields&#039; ),\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n<p>However, if you\u2019re using the Custom Post Type UI plugin, then navigate to <strong>CPT UI<\/strong> \u2192 <strong>Add\/Edit Post Type<\/strong> \u2192 <strong>Edit Post Types<\/strong> from the WordPress dashboard.
