GigPress is a powerful live performance listing and management plugin designed for musicians and other performers. With it, you can manage all of your upcoming and past performances right from within the WordPress admin and display them on your site using simple shortcodes, PHP template tags, or the GigPress widget on your WordPress-powered website.

However, you may wish to migrate from GigPress to The Events Calendar so that you can harness all of the features of The Events Calendar for your upcoming performances instead.

The good news is that it is easy to make this transition! Simply export your data from GigPress via a CSV file and import it into The Events Calendar, all on your WordPress site. Don’t worry, we’ll walk you through the steps below.

Export Data from GigPress via CSV

The first thing you’ll want to do is export all of your GigPress shows as a CSV file. You can do this by heading over to GigPress > Import/Export.

GigPress > Import/Export

Select the shows you’d like to export and click Download CSV.

Click Download CSV from GigPress

Import CSV into The Events Calendar

Next, you’ll import that same CSV into your The Events Calendar plugin. To do this, head over to Events > Import and select CSV from the dropdown menu. Then add your CSV, choose Events as your Content Type, and click Preview.

Import CSV file

Then, you’ll want to select the associated option for each of the columns. Note that for “artist name”, that option won’t exist. You’ll likely want to use the Event Name option instead.

Select Import and all of your shows will be migrated over to events!
